The first trail I ever rode on the Shore was Severed Dick. It was 1995 and raining. I had a borrowed Kona Kilauea hardtail with 1″ inch of front travel, cantilever brakes, and no helmet. I remember thinking, how was it humanly possible for anybody to ride this whole trail? Everything about negotiating my bike down and over those glistening roots, and jagged, steep boulders felt so unnatural and totally impossible.

(AUS) Bikie blues could shut Kalgoorlie nightclub

As revealed on the PerthNow iPad last night, police have filed a submission with the WA Liquor Commission calling for disciplinary sanctions against The Palace Hotel’s Gold Bar and its owners Ashok and Marie Parekh, which moots changes to the club’s liquor licence.

It is understood the submission includes allegations that security staff allowed bikies into the venue, failed to intervene during fights and did not alert police to disturbances when they should have.

Under the Liquor Control Act, venues can be shut down, suspended, have their licences cancelled or be fined for breaching conditions of the licence. Action may also be taken against individuals, including approved managers and company directors.

From Day One, prosecutors argued that their case against the Chosen Few motorcycle club, a case involving allegations of firebombings, death threats and assaults, never hinged on one witness.

But in the end, it was a single witness, a biker-turned-confidential informant, who prompted one of the government’s longest and well-publicized criminal cases to unravel last week.

The final chapter came Saturday, in a simple two-paragraph news release announcing a rare development in federal criminal prosecutions: an outright dismissal of charges against members of the Depew motorcycle club. “I think he hoodwinked them, too,” Angelo Musitano, a lawyer for one of the 20 defendants, said of the government and its informant. By most accounts, the two-year old prosecution fell apart because of David Ignasiak, the 44-year-old biker-turned-confidential source. Even the FBI saw Ignasiak as a “loose cannon.”

(USSA) Motorcycle gxxg member suspected of inciting Street Vibrations melee in Reno

The California Vagos motorcycle club member accused of inciting a fight at a Sparks casino between rival Hells Angels members that turned deadly on a crowded dance floor has been brought back to Reno to face charges related to the Street Vibrations-related melee.

Gary Stuart Rudnick, 45, was brought back to Reno on Tuesday to face an indictment charging him with challenge of a fight with a deadly weapon causing death and conspiracy to engage in an affray.

No arraignment date had yet been set in Washoe District Court. He has 72 hours to make his first court appearance.

The deadly fight occurred Sept. 23 and resulted in the death of Jeffrey Pettigrew, who was the San Jose Hells Angels chapter president.

An indictment filed last month accuses rival Vago member Ernesto Manuel Gonzalez, 53, of San Francisco, of fatally shooting Pettigrew. He has pleaded not guilty and was scheduled an April trial.

A CONSTRUCTION company co-owned by a bikie standover man with convictions for drug trafficking and unlawful weapons possession is raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars in government contracts

Scott Paton, sergeant-at-arms of outlaw club Highway 61, is a director and shareholder in Eastcoast Concrete Cutting, which is working on the Kessels Rd overpass for Main Roads and previously worked on Airport Link, the Gateway upgrade and the Boggo Rd Busway project.

The company has also won almost $300,000 worth of work from Brisbane City Council since 2008.

The revelation of further bikie involvement in Airport Link comes two years after The Courier-Mail exposed links between notorious West Australian bikie outfit Club Deroes and the project’s then biggest subcontractor.

It also comes as police prepare to make the first move against bikie clubs under the Bligh Government’s controversial criminal organisation laws.

Burn Dirtpark Grand Opening

The first European indoor dirt park, now proudly named Burn Dirtpark, will have its grand opening this coming weekend. The event will take place on Saturday, the 17th in central Warsaw, Poland, at Skra sports area premises. The Dirtpark crew has built the air supported tent over the park’s pumptrack, jumps and foam pit, and the big names of Czech, Austrian, Latvian and Polish dirt scene have already confirmed their attendance.

Riders who attend the grand opening will get a chance to win money and gear prizes from Dirtpark sponsors, as well as hit up the after party with the riders at the Karmel club. We’ll see everyone there!
